Reduce Image Size in KB for free, privately
Application forms, exam portals and ID uploads usually state a maximum file size such as 20 KB, 50 KB or 100 KB, and reject anything bigger. Type that number in Maximum size: the tool tries qualities until the file fits, and only reduces the pixel size if quality alone is not enough, so you always get the sharpest picture that is still accepted.
To go from MB to KB there is nothing to convert by hand: a 3 MB phone photo and a 300 KB screenshot both come out under the number you type. Everything runs in your browser with the mozjpeg and libwebp encoders, so your images are never uploaded.
How it works
- Add images: drop JPG, PNG or WebP files, click to choose them, or paste a screenshot.
- Pick Quality or Target size, and a format if you want to convert.
- Press Compress images. Each file shows its new size and how much it saved.
- Download images one by one, or all of them as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions
How do I reduce a photo to a specific size in KB?
Type the size in Maximum size (for example 50), add the photo and press Compress images. Each result shows its new size; "Resized to fit" means the pixel size was reduced too, because quality alone could not reach the limit.
How do I convert an image from MB to KB?
You do not need to convert anything: type the limit in KB and add the photo, however many MB it is. 1 MB is 1000 or 1024 KB depending on the site, so a target of 1000 KB fits either way.
Why is my small image still too big?
A PNG screenshot or a detailed photo needs fewer pixels to reach a very small limit. The tool reduces the pixel size automatically; for faces and signatures, crop tightly first with the Image Resizer so the remaining pixels are spent on what matters.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Compression runs in this page on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server.
