Fast rewraps the video in seconds. Plays everywhere re-encodes iPhone HEVC video to H.264, which is slower.

MOV to MP4, free and private

MOV is Apple's video format. iPhones, Macs and many cameras save to it, but Windows, Android phones and plenty of websites handle MP4 far better. The video inside a MOV is usually already MP4-compatible, so converting is often just a matter of rewrapping it.

Fast does exactly that: nothing is re-encoded, so quality is identical and it takes seconds. Newer iPhones record in HEVC, which some older computers cannot play. If that happens, use Plays everywhere to re-encode to H.264. Either way, your video stays on your device.

How it works

  1. Add a MOV video from your iPhone, Mac or camera.
  2. Keep Fast, or pick Plays everywhere for older devices.
  3. Press Convert to MP4.
  4. Check the preview and download the MP4.

Frequently asked questions

Does converting MOV to MP4 reduce quality?

Not in Fast mode, which copies the video unchanged. Plays everywhere re-encodes at a high quality setting that looks the same in normal viewing.

My MP4 has sound but no picture on Windows. Why?

The video is HEVC, which Windows plays only with an extra codec. Convert again with Plays everywhere to get H.264 video.

Can I convert many videos at once?

One at a time for now. Each conversion runs on your own device, so doing them one by one keeps memory use safe on phones.

Is my video uploaded?

No. The conversion runs in your browser with FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly.
