Collage Maker

Put two to five photos together and make it look like something. Side-by-side splits, filters, blurred backgrounds, polaroid and film frames, grain and light leaks — not just a grid of pictures.

Two photos, side by side

The commonest collage of all is two pictures next to each other — a manager and a player, a before and an after, two people in the same story. Add two photos, pick the Split style and they sit edge to edge with no gap and no rounded corners, the way a sports headline runs them. Choose the 4:3 shape for that look, or Square for a feed. Drag either photo to line the faces up.

A collage that does not look like a grid

Most free collage makers give you boxes and a white gap. That is fine for a school project and dull for anything else. This one gives you the treatment as well: a background made from a blurred copy of your own photo, polaroid mats, a film strip with sprocket holes, and the grain, vignette and light-leak effects that make a set of phone pictures look like one photograph rather than five.

Everything happens in your browser. Your photos are never uploaded, which also means there is no queue, no sign-up and no watermark.

How to make one

  1. Drop in up to five photos, or paste them.
  2. Pick a shape — square, portrait, story or wide — and an arrangement.
  3. Drag each photo to sit where you want inside its box, and zoom it in or out.
  4. Give it a look: a filter per photo, a background, a frame, then grain or a light leak.
  5. Add text anywhere on it if you want, and download it as PNG or JPG.

Which shape should I use?

Square suits Instagram and most feeds. Portrait (4:5) takes up more of a phone screen and tends to be seen for longer. Story (9:16) fills a phone completely, for Stories and Reels covers. Wide (16:9) is for a header image, a blog post or a presentation slide.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use just two photos?

Yes, and it is the commonest way to use it. Two photos have four arrangements — side by side, one above the other, and two big-and-small splits — and the Split style puts them edge to edge with no gap.

How many photos can I put in one collage?

Up to five. Each number has its own arrangements, so two pictures get side-by-side and big-and-small options, and five get a hero shot with a row underneath, a mosaic and several grids.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. The collage is drawn in your own browser and saved straight to your device, so there is nothing on a server to delete afterwards.

What effects can I add?

Nine looks per photo including Mono, Noir, Faded, Warm and Sunlit; backgrounds in plain colours, gradients or a blurred copy of your own photo; border, polaroid, shadow and film-strip frames; and grain, vignette and light leaks over the whole collage.

What size does it save?

Standard or double. Double gives a 2160 pixel square, big enough to print small or to post anywhere without it going soft.

Can I move a photo inside its box?

Yes — drag it up, down, left or right, and zoom it with the slider, the scroll wheel or two fingers, from 50% (the whole photo, with room around it) to 300%. The photo always stays inside its own frame.

Can I write text on the collage?

Yes. Open the Text tab, press Add text and type. Drag the words anywhere on the collage, and give each text its own size, font, colour and shadow. Add as many as you like.
