PNG to JPG for free, privately
PNG is great for screenshots, logos and graphics, but photos saved as PNG are often five to ten times bigger than they need to be, and some upload forms, websites and apps only accept JPG. This converter re-saves your PNG images as JPG, so they become much smaller and open everywhere.
Choose the quality, convert one image or a whole batch, and download them one by one or as a ZIP. It also converts WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF to JPG. Everything runs in your browser, so your images are never uploaded.
How it works
- Add PNG images: drop them here, click to choose, or paste a screenshot.
- Pick the quality and the colour for transparent areas.
- Press Convert to JPG.
- Download each JPG, or all of them as a ZIP.
Frequently asked questions
Does converting PNG to JPG lose quality?
JPG is a lossy format, so a tiny amount of detail is removed, but at High quality the result looks the same as the original. Sharp text and line drawings stay crisper as PNG, so keep those as PNG if you can.
What happens to the transparent background?
JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white, or black if you choose it. To keep a transparent background, use PNG instead.
Why is the JPG so much smaller?
PNG stores every pixel exactly, which suits graphics but makes photos large. JPG is designed for photos and compresses them far better, often to a fifth of the size.
Can I convert many PNG files at once?
Yes. Add as many images as you like and download them all together as a ZIP.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in this page on your own device, on phones and computers alike.
