JPEG to JPG for free, privately
JPEG and JPG are the same format: the only difference is the extension, a leftover from old systems that allowed three letters. Some upload forms still accept only ".jpg". For a .jpeg file this tool keeps every byte and simply gives it the .jpg name, so there is no quality loss at all. PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP files are converted to JPG at high quality.
Everything runs in your browser, so your images are never uploaded.
How it works
- Add .jpeg files, or PNG, WebP, GIF or BMP images.
- Press Convert to JPG.
- Download each file, or all of them as a ZIP.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a difference between JPEG and JPG?
No. They are the same image format with two spellings of the extension. Converting a .jpeg to .jpg here keeps the file byte for byte and only changes the name.
Does converting PNG to JPG lose quality?
JPG is a lossy format, so a little detail is lost, but at quality 92 it is not visible. Transparent areas become white, because JPG has no transparency.
Can I convert many files at once?
Yes. Add as many as you like and download them as a ZIP.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Everything runs in this page on your own device.
