JPG to PNG for free, privately

Some websites, design apps and application forms ask for PNG files. PNG is a lossless format: once your image is a PNG, it can be edited and saved again and again without losing any more quality, which JPG cannot do.

This converter saves each JPG as a PNG with exactly the same pixels and packs the file as tightly as a lossless PNG allows. Convert one photo or a whole batch, then download them one by one or as a ZIP. Everything runs in your browser, so your images are never uploaded.

How it works

  1. Add JPG or JPEG images: drop them here, click to choose, or paste one.
  2. Press Convert to PNG.
  3. Download each PNG, or all of them as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

Does converting JPG to PNG improve the quality?

No. The PNG has exactly the same pixels as the JPG, so any blur or blockiness already in the JPG stays. What changes is that nothing more is lost when you edit and save the PNG later.

Why is the PNG bigger than the JPG?

PNG stores every pixel without loss, while JPG throws away detail to stay small. A photo as PNG is usually several times larger. If you need a small file, keep the JPG or use the Image Compressor.

Will the PNG have a transparent background?

No. A JPG has no transparency, so the PNG keeps the original background. To remove the background, use the Background Remover, which saves a transparent PNG.

Can I convert many JPG files at once?

Yes. Add as many images as you like and download them all together as a ZIP.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The conversion runs in this page on your own device.
