Questions people ask
Can you really edit text in a PDF?
Yes, within the limits of the format. A PDF stores text as positioned glyphs, not as paragraphs, so a change does not reflow the rest of the page. This editor replaces the line you clicked: it covers the original with a rectangle matched to the surrounding background and draws your new text in its place. For labels, names, dates, amounts and short sentences that is exactly what you want. Rewriting a whole flowing article is not what any browser-based editor can do.
What about a PDF that is just a photo or a scan?
Those have no text to click. Press OCR page and the page is read with optical character recognition; each recognised line then behaves like real text and can be edited. Accuracy depends on the scan — a clean 300 DPI document reads very well, a blurry phone photo less so.
Is my document uploaded anywhere?
No. Reading, editing, OCR and saving all happen inside your browser tab using JavaScript. Nothing is sent to a server, so the file never leaves your computer.
Will the rest of the page stay exactly the same?
Yes. Untouched pages and untouched areas are carried over from the original file, not re-rendered, so images, fonts and layout stay byte-for-byte intact. Only the parts you edit are drawn over.
